Make Chef Mindy Segal's Caramelize Mac & Cheese

 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 lb. American cheese
  • ½ cup Gruyere
  • 4 cups ridged elbow macaroni
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Heat cream in a heavy duty saucepan
  2. Add melted cheese and stir consciously
  3. Season with salt & pepper
  4. Add cooked elbow macaroni
  5. Place in a baking dish
  6. Put in broiler for about two minutes or until the top caramelizes
